Captain Enjambre Empowers Ethical Journalism in Anchor's New Era

In a momentous event that marked the relaunch of the University of Cebu-METC Campus School Publication, Anchor, Captain Gerry Enjambre, the OIC-Campus Director and at the same time the Dean of the Maritime Education delivered an inspiring message. His words struck a shackle, reminding the student journalists of the immense responsibility that comes with being part of a publication and the impact it can have on the institution, its members, and their own personal growth.
Captain Enjambre emphasized the importance of responsible journalism, guiding the student journalists to approach their publishing endeavors with mindfulness and responsibility in order to enhance the reputation of the school and individuals involved, to exercise care and to strive for excellence in their contributions, with the collective goal of benefiting the school and its students, including the staff. He also emphasized the importance of protecting the school's integrity and called upon the student journalists to demonstrate loyalty to their alma mater, encouraging them to give their best efforts in their journalistic pursuits.
Additionally, Ms. Fe Amoroto, the Guidance Center Head further emphasized the role of the student journalists, stating, "You are the voice of METC, and as a voice, you are catalysts for change, not only within our own institution but also within the mindset of our students."
As aspiring journalists and contributors, the newly acknowledged Anchor journalists have a duty to ensure that their publications are accurate, reliable, and grounded in ethical practices. They hold the responsibility to present content that is fair, balanced, and respectful.
The relaunch of the University of Cebu-METC Campus School Publication, Anchor, signifies a new chapter in the school's publication history. It is not just a celebration of a new beginning but a symbol of the limitless potential within each student journalists. As they embark on this path, they carry the torch of responsible journalism, aiming to make a meaningful difference within the institution and beyond.
