With full enthusiasm for outlining their plans and brainstorming ideas for the upcoming recognition, the elected officers of Batch 2023-2024, now officially named "Batch Polaris," together with their advisers, Dr. Daryl Babatid, Capt. Dax Alenton, and Capt. Armando Briones, held their first meeting in the University of Cebu – Maritime Education and Training Center Conference Room yesterday.
Deck Cadet Joriel Mancao, President of the Batch Polaris officers, presided over the meeting, highlighting their agenda and plans for the graduating students' activities, as well as potential merchandise and other important matters.
Furthermore, in concretizing the tactics of the officers, other matters and needs, such as the batch logo design, have been opened to everyone through a contest, with a prize that the officers are yet to announce. Additionally, plans are underway to create a monitoring card for students who will be recognized.
To guarantee effective sharing of information, apart from utilizing Batch Polaris' official Facebook page, they are planning for any effective alternatives to secure proper information dissemination.
Furthermore, the officers' plans encompass upcoming symposiums, seminars, recollection sessions, and mandatory trainings that all cadets-to-be-recognized must participate in.
THE COURTESY VISIT
On the same day, the Batch Polaris officers also paid a courtesy visit to the office of the OIC-Campus Director and Dean of the College of Maritime Education, Capt. Gerry D. Enjambre.
Capt. Enjambre spent time with the officers, suggesting ideas and giving feedback to further cement the plans of the batch and he also expressed his excitement, noting that "Polaris is a great batch name, as just like the North Star, it will guide you to the right path wherever you may be."
